Matcha — Visual Storytelling Around an Ingredient

This series explores how a single ingredient can become the foundation of an entire visual narrative.
Rather than focusing exclusively on the packaged product, the concept was to build a world around matcha by highlighting its textures, preparation rituals and culinary uses.
The creative direction began with the characteristic color and powdery texture of matcha. These elements became the visual language of the series: scattered powder, sculptural surfaces and layered compositions that emphasize the tactile qualities of the ingredient.
Traditional preparation tools were introduced to reference the cultural context of matcha, while food styling expanded the narrative by showing how the ingredient can be incorporated into contemporary recipes.
The final image set moves through several visual layers:
– Ingredient texture
– Preparation and tools
– Product presence
– Finished food application

By combining these elements, the series becomes more than product photography. It creates a cohesive visual environment where the ingredient, its preparation and its culinary potential coexist within the same aesthetic language.
This approach allows brands to communicate not only what their product is, but also how it can live within everyday moments and creative recipes.
